Men's C final Match day 07/04

Last Sunday April 7th, the Gothia Men's C team played their last match day in our home hall against Ravens and Kungälv. The squad was once again supported by Victor helping out as Outside Hitter. Our team started with Abe, Trent, Ali, Manos, Henrik, Adam, Mansour, Samuel and Dennis.

First match was against local rival Ravens who haven't one this season. We started focused in the match and put the ball save over the net winning set 1 comfortable. The second set was a classical mental break down. Too loose and thinking the victory will come without effort, we played easy balls over and gave our opponent lots of energy and confidence. When we tried to catch back up, easy mistakes made us fall behind and the set was lost. Luckily thanks to the right mind set, we were able to reset and play our game. This led to a 3:1 victory where clean serve receives and good high defense by our libero and MVP Dennis gave us a lot of boost and calm.   

In the second match, Kungälv beat Ravens without any problems after which we faced Kungälv for the last match of the season. With a weaker setup losing Adam to an ankle injury in the first match and Ali with a shoulder injury, we had a tough match to play. We had good phases with solid three touches and especially good defense against strong dynamic hits of our opponents. However, we lacked quite a bit "fire power" in our attacks and were not capable of transforming great defensive plays into points for us. So, the match was lost 0:3 at the end.

We look back at a season with many changes in players but still very successful and we are happy about the 4th place in Div 3 Västra.
