Back in 2025 with full power

Herr C after the matches

Last Sunday, 17th of January the Men’s C team had their first match of 2025. We made our way to Kungälv with Erik (S), Ross (OP), Chen (OP), Arvid (MI), Manos (MI), Henrik (MI), Artem (OH), Adam (OH), Aleksejs (OH), Georgios (L), Dennis (L).

First match against Kungälv from the perspective of our MVPs Arvid and Artem:

The game against Kungälv was a close one in all three sets. We started off a bit shaky and were down by 5 points early on. But no-one wanted to do that many push-ups after losing the set, so we decided to win it. From there we really hit our stride and played some amazing volleyball. We had great presence at the net, and a fully committed defense behind that. As a result we could turn the set around to a win with 25-23. The two following sets were also close, but we never let go of the momentum and could secure an important 3-0 victory!

What followed was a re-match against Alingsås. While the opponent was utilizing the free balls to the powerful attacks from the middle and playing safe from the sides otherwise, we confidently fought back their best swings but felt surprised getting the randomly overpassing balls. We got a nice improvement in communication: there were a lot of good calls, tips, and cheering inside the court and from the bench. We'll surely evolve and polish our game with time and discipline.

MVP för den andra matchen var Adam som sammanfattade spelet som följande:

Vi börjar matchen ganska starkt efter en 3-0 vinst med bra försvarsspel, servar, anfall och ledde därför settet med 20–14. Men efter några missar på vår sida och bättre spel från Alingsås, tog de settet 26-28. Men vi samlade oss och spelade väldigt bra med otroligt förvar från alla på plan samt en bra variation på anfallen. Vi vann då matchen 3-1 (26-28, 25-20, 25-19, 25-23).
