First rematch of the season

Men's C team after the match against Gråå

Last Saturday, 14th of December the Men’s C team had their last match of 2024 and already the first rematch with Gråå who they faced just a weekend before. We were very eager to turn it around this time and show our full potential. We played in Göteborg (Idrottshögskolan) with  Erik H (S), Abe (S), Hannes (OP), Ali (OP), Andre (MI), Arvid (MI), Henrik (MI), Manos (MI), Artem (OH), Adam (OH), Jacob (OH), Georgios (L) and Dennis (L).

In contrast to our last face of with Gråå, we started focused and determined with good serves and minimal individual errors. Consequently, we pulled away easily and faced little resistance from our opponents who were not really in the match yet. We created a large gap and maintained it to the end winning this set 25:8. It looked like an easy win at that point but maybe our overconfidence or wrong expectation that it will just come by itself, changed the match in the next sets. Our opponents got back into the game and we failed to consistently put pressure on them feeling sometimes surprised that balls got picked up and returned. Combined with individual mistakes and lack of serve pressure, it ended similarly like our first match up in a 1:3 loss. MVP of the match was our setter Erik H who showed good energy and tried his best to feed the attacking line with attackable sets.

We send out a "God Jul" and hope to lift up our level a bit in the second half of the season next year.
