Match day in Göteborg against Kungälv and Ravens

Last Saturday 11/11, the Gothia Men's C team had an exciting match day here in Göteborg. In the first game, we faced Kungälv who won their first match 3:1 against the home team - the Ravens. Our squad was supported again by former C team player Victor and consisted of Abe, Trent, Ali, Gencalp, Vale, Victor, Shirish, Yahgoub and Dennis.

This afternoon, we had our difficulties to find into a good game rhythm and fell behind early in the first set. A lot of small concentration errors and lack of focus made it difficult to catch up and we lost 13:25. Second set started slightly better and we managed to get some good touches in. Solid attacks came from our player of the match Yahgoub. Still, the fighting spirit didn't want to awaken this day and although we improved each set, lost the match quite clear 0:3.

The second match, we faced a newcomer in the league that has yet to show their skills. We started well in set 1 and took the lead right away and kept it till the end. Our opponents played a bit hectic at times and with unconventional formations. We adapted a bit too much and were slightly overconfident increasing our error rates and missing confident and hard spikes. Thanks to good team spirit and solid mental game, we managed to keep it together and won all three sets (25:16, 25:20, 25:20). Player of the match here was Victor with nice attacks from the middle position and a few aces from the baseline.

Overall, a good result and happy faces at the end.
