Damer A vs KFUM & Hylte Halmstad

Following our last two losses in Alingsås along with some changes in our squad, we weren’t sure what to expect going into these two matches. We were preparing to play two great teams, one of which - Hylte Halmstad - we had previously lost to in the season. Fortunately we had nearly the whole team together to ensure that no one gets tired out, we welcomed back Hai as our setter and added Yu Ting as spiker, both of whom played incredible games!

Our first game of the day was against KFUM. It took us a while to find our pace, but once we did we played great volleyball and won the first set 25-19. The sets became more and more even as the match went on. Second set was won with 25-22, and the third with 26-24. Still, no matter how close it was we managed to secure the win by keeping our focus and finishing the sets on top. It was a fun game with lots of rallies and great performances from everyone involved. Player of the game was our libero Angela who did an amazing job of keeping tricky balls from dying on our side of the court, and playing non-stop throughout all the sets.

The second game of the day was against Hylte Halmstad. The game was played to all five sets, a battle to the end to figure out who was going to come out on top. We started off a bit rocky, losing the first set 20-25. In the second set we came back stronger, winning 25-18. Third set was taken back and won by Hylte again, 21-25. But after this they were tired, and we had fully figured out how to counteract their style of play. We took complete control of the fourth set, going 10-0 up before they could respond and finishing it off 25-12. When it came to the fifth and final set we won 15-7. We played a great game with everyone on the team managing to keep up the tempo and energy. We couldn’t decide on the player of the game as everyone both on the sidelines and on the court did an awesome job pushing for the win! It was (even more than usual) a true team effort, and such a fun game to be a part of!
