Fantastic effort from the boys in blue!

Not the result we were after on Saturday, but the performance was exceptional. After a tough journey a few weeks back and only a squad of 16 going down this week it was a complete turnaround. Right from the kick-off our boys took it to them and matched their physicality -  stopping their key players early was the important factor of the game. The boys fronted up and left everything on the pitch with bone-crunching tackles and plenty of bum taps! The score didn’t match the game and you can't take anything away from Lugi who perhaps made the smarter decision by travelling up on Friday night and getting the required rest in before the big game. It was a slow start for the Lugi boys but after they'd shaken off the journey and realised Uppsala wasn't a walk over they finally got themselves into gear early into the second half and the plays started working for them.

Everyone from the boys in blue had a fantastic game so it's hard to single out players for this report but a special mention to our power house Sîon who had an absolute blinder on the wing scoring his first ever try in rugby. Also can’t forget to mention our captain Louis, who lead this fine team Saturday. He has made a huge impact on the club and the players, and played his last game this weekend - what a game to end on, with getting the Man of the match and also Dick of the day (mostly for being French). Thank you for everything Louis, and from the club, we wish you all the best in the next chapter of your life and welcome you back with open arms anytime! The final score was 5-34.
