Eager for revenge

After a tough away loss to Gothenburg, it was now time for Uppsala’s men’s team to face them on home turf, eager for revenge! The week leading up to the match, Uppsala’s coach Luca had trained the team so hard that some players struggled to fit their jerseys over their swollen, sunburnt muscles.
Gothenburg kicked off, but Uppsala quickly regained possession and immediately showed who was in charge! After some great footwork from Zeb and a slick kick forward by Anton, the team rapidly made their way to Gothenburg’s 22. After a quick ruck and perfectly timed passes from Luca and King, James effortlessly ran in a try with little resistance. The match was underway, and Gothenburg quickly realized this would not be an easy day. After the next kickoff, Uppsala regained control again. Ferocious runs by Hampus and Michael steadily pushed the team forward. Following a lineout, the ball was passed to the backline, where once again, Zeb’s quick feet made an impact, and the ball was passed along the backline , charging towards the try line, dreaming of glory and champagne. Unfortunately, we were stopped just a few meters short of the line. After a penalty, another lineout was taken, and Uppsala won the ball. A maul was formed, and at the back, Captain Luka, using his sharp intellect, decision-making skills, and the fact that he had spinach for breakfast, darted down the blindside of the maul and powered his way over the try line! Uppsala was showing once again that they were no pushovers. Gothenburg, however, seemed to wake up, and the game went back and forth so much that the crowd began complaining about dizziness and neck pain.
After a water break, Uppsala gained fresh energy and started working their way down towards Gothenburg’s try line again. After a lot of hard rucking, including from the wing Gustav, who, like a quantum particle, seemed to exist in two places at once, Uppsala made it inside Gothenburg’s 22. But Gothenburg managed to steal the ball and kicked it back into Uppsala’s half. After regaining possession and establishing control, Luca and Luka, with some great teamwork, broke the line and passed to James, who once again ran in a try with little effort. In the second half, Gothenburg began to wilt under the scorching sun. But not Uppsala! As mentioned earlier, they had been trained hard to endure tough conditions. Substitutions were made, and Filip "Grillan" Grillfors came in as the second center. After some fumbling hands from Gothenburg, the ball ended up loose, and Grillan saw his chance to impress the crowd. Instead of picking up the ball with his hands, he started playing soccer with it, putting on a show never before seen at Fyrisfjädern! One kick! Two kicks! From the coaching bench, Wilhelm shouted, “Pick it up with your hands!” Grillan himself yelled something inaudible, but players nearby later claimed it sounded like, "The show must go on!" After a third kick, the ball was now just 5 meters from the try line. He picked it up with his hands, got tackled, and managed to get off an offload, resulting in an amazing try for Anton. The crowd went absolutely wild! Uppsala now had full control of the match, and more tries were scored, including one by "The Flying Dutchman" Jannes, who, after Luca broke the line, received a pass out on the wing and, at Mach 2 speed, flew over the try line to score his first try for the club. Uppsala won the match 55-0 and therefore won the 2 game contest 70-53 on aggregate.
Man of the match went to James for scoring a ridiculous amount of tries and Dick of the day went to Johnny for thinking the 5m line was the try line. Captain's choice went to Jannes for scoring his first try and making ground with every carry.
Uppsala will now play local rivals Hammarby over 2 matches in the final ranking games of the season.
