Long match day @Lindesberg

At Sunday 20/03, Gothia B ladies traveled the longest distance this season all the way to Lindesberg for another match day in Div 3 mellersta. Our squad: Hannah, Linnea, Merima, Matilda, Federica, Maria and Caroline came together for another two matches.
The first match, we played against Lindesberg C which is currently last in the division. Our opponents were partly beginners but had good spirit and fun playing volleyball. We had some starting problems and lacked focus at the beginning of the first set until we profited from good serves to get some points ahead. In the second set, we early on got good attacks and serves in - especially by player of the match Caroline - and went up to 10 points ahead. A bit too confident, the third set started falling behind and we had to regain control after a while. Overall, we won clearly but not without making quite a few mistakes and adapting a bit to our opponents game pace. The result was 3:0 (25:17, 25:12, 25:14).
The second match was against VK Block which we faced before in the season. The first set started little slow after our break until we managed to get good serve sequences that pulled us ahead several points. Our opponents came back due to many unforced errors on our side but again we pulled away towards the end and decided the first set in our favor 25:15. A bit over-confident, we started the second set and played more on our opponents level instead of playing to our strength. The set was very balanced but towards the end every mistake made us get more nervous. Our opponent stayed calm and profited from our errors which led to us giving this set away 22:25. After a short breather, we focused again on our game and thanks to strong serves and attacks by our left spiker and player of the match - Matilda - we came back strong. The third set was won with confidence 25:14 going in set number 4. In this set, our opponent lost a bit faith and we were really strong in serving and keeping the ball on the opponents side. We pulled away right ahead and led by over 10 points not giving up focus. This secured our second win of the day 3:1 (25:15, 22:25, 25:14, 25:12).
Overall a good match day with a long drive home making a short stop close to home for some food and chat. Our last match day comes April 3rd against our main competitor Kungälv and Lindesberg C again.
