Third match day (@Home)

B girls team "we are happy" expression

Last Sunday (28/11) was not only the first advent but also the first home game for the Gothia B girls team in Valhalla hall C here in Göteborg. Another "battle of B's" was coming up as we were facing KFUM Örebro B and Trollhättan B. The squad consisted of Frederica, Matilda, Caroline, Merima, Hannah, Maria, Linnea and Eva. Getting everything set up for the first time was a bit of a challenge as we are not playing in our training hall but we managed and where ready to go 14:30h for the first match against Örebro.

Our opponents were a young and motivated team with skilled players. We started focused and strong in the first set and managed to pull ahead with 5 points until the middle of the set. Then, strong serves from the other side and a bit immobility in our serve-receive tied the set again. Once the ball got to the net, we had wide range of variability and strong attacks. The first set was won 25:21 and gave us confidence in our game. The second set was balanced until a 8 point serve sequence by player of the match - Maria - pulled us ahead. Although our opponents came back, we managed to win this set as well 25:20. The third set was a repetition of the second with two long serve sequences but after pulling ahead, we also lost a few points in the serve-receive. At the end, we secured a 3:0 victory (25:21, 25:20, 25:22). 

The second game was against Trollhättan B who we played last match day already. We knew about their potential of keeping the ball of the ground but also having troubles with receiving our serves. So, the first set was decided by consistent and strong serve sequences. We managed to pull 10 points ahead and secured the set 25:18. The second set went down similarly. A long serve sequence (9 points) and good attacks won us the second set 25:16. In the third set, we lost the tension a bit and fell behind early. But with good team spirit, we fought back and solid sets and smart tips on the net by our setter and player of the match - Hannah - secured us once again a perfect match win with 3:0 (25:18, 25:16, 25:22).

For the third time, we did not drop a set and continue to stay strong in this season in Div 3 Mellersta Damer. Thanks also to the spectators who came out and supported our team making it feel like a real home game.

Next game will come in the new year on 12/02/2022 in Karlstad!
