Yesterday (12/02) the Gothia B Ladies had another road trip to Karlstad (Värmlands län). This was ought to become exciting as one of our opponents (Vingåker) is current number 1 in division 3 mellersta damer. The squad consisted of Frederica, Matilda, Caroline, Merima, Hannah, Maria, Hanna and Chiara. The latter two supported our team once again as in our first match. (Thanks ladies!)

Our first opponent was Karlstad C - the home team consisting of young upcoming talents with a lot of energy. We started focused and very controlled and calm. In all three sets, we pulled away early had several strong serve sequences and minimized our own errors. This showed in the results as all sets were won giving only one digit points away ending in a clear 3:0 (25:6, 25:8, 25:6). The concentration and solid game play was impressive considering the low resistance. The strong jump serves and very controlled attacks by our player of the match Matilda gave this win a special note.

The second game was the real highlight of the day. We faced the current number one Vingåker. The team was a mix of dynamic and more experienced woman that we have not played against yet in the season. We wanted to start calm and collected again just like we finished the previous game. The first set started solid and we did not lose our cool even there were a lot more balls coming back. Our opponents kept our attacks alive and had a good field cover. The rallys became very exciting but our formation stood solid and we managed to get good three touch volleyball going. Our attacks were precise and relentless. Around 8:8, we started to pull away and gained more and more advantage. Our low error rate was impressive and good blocks made it hard to score attacks from the opponents. Our advance build up more towards the end and we secured a 25:16 win in the first set. In the second set, we pulled away right from the start with strong serves and good blocks. A very solid performance by our setter Hannah - one of the players of the match - enabled us to put pressure with good attacks. After one rotation, we were already up 15:7. This lead was kept until the end of set two winning 25:15. In the third set, we pulled away early and our opponents formation fell slightly apart. Well placed serves especially by Maria - the other player of the match - as well as controlled attacks and good presence on the net were just too strong on this day. We finished another perfect match 3:0 (25:16, 25:15, 25:5) and remain with all sets won so far in the season.

We had great team spirit and good communication going this day and our improvements from the start of the season are impressive. The ladies showed a strong and experienced game presence and it was a pleasure to watch.
