23/24 Season kick off for Gothia's men B team

1st games of Gothia's men B team of the season 23/24

Yes! We have kicked off the first two games of season 23/24 for the Gothia’s men B team. Playing two matches in a roll, 09:00 against Ymer and 11:00 against Jönköping at Borås, our team continuously improved along the matches, but unfortunately we did not bring wins back home last weekend.

On the first challenge (Ymer), Gothia Men B started with a new lineup. Sherman as setter, Thomas (H1) and Oscar (H2) as spikers, Vincent and Kennet as middle blockers, Marcio libero, and Victor as opposite. I do not know if waking up early in the Sunday morning, being the very first game of the season, or Thomas suffering an injury on his left hand was the issue, but the team had a lack of focus at the beginning of the match, forcing some changes in the field. Georgi (O), Pontus (H1) and Movitz (H2) entered to spice up a bit the match. The changes reflected well, but we still lost in the end by 3X0 (25-11; 25-15; 25-20).

The second challenge of the day was Jönköping. We kept the first game’s last set lineup, and got two consecutive set for Gothia, bringing home at least 1 point. We did not expect Jönköping, but with a good and inspired combination of setter and spiker on the other side of the field, they managed to turn over the match to 3X2.

For his very good presence in the field, both attacking and defending, Pontus was elected MVP of Gothia’s team for the weekend! Keep this good and inspiring work up Pontus!!!

This is the summary of our first weekend on season 23/24 playing together as Gothia B team. We will bring more effort and eagerness for wins our club!
