Lundby - Team Responsibilities
This document describes the responsibilities shared by each TEAM in Lundby. These are over-and-above the coach’s own responsibility to “teach basketball.” We at Lundby would prefer if the players or team parents can take the brunt of these responsibilities, to allow the coach to focus on the team's basketball skills.
Each team should have at least one team parent (lagförälder) and that/those parents should be responsible for many of these. See KFUM's document "Lagförälderns Roll"
Coaches, when you have found one or two team parents, you can give them admin rights to the team page so that they can administer much of the stuff described on this page. Those tasks most suitable for the players or team parents have (LF) beside the task.

Unlock the Hall
Unlock the deadbolt on the “basketball” entrance. Be wary of holding the door open with a mat or something else, because we have had items stolen during our practices, including brand new shoes.
Bring out the Balls
Bring out only the balls your team needs for the practice, then lock the ball room, because of the thieves mentioned in “Unlock the Hall.”
Keep The Players List Up To Date (medlemslist)
A team parent or player should be given this task.
The team needs to take a printed, up-to-date copy of the spelklarlist for the team to EVERY match. This is a requirement of Westra, not Lundby. Every time this list is forgotten, it results in a 100:- fine for Lundby. These can be fetched here:
Insurance for injuries only applies to players that are already licensed, so all players must theoretically be licensed before the first training, but we know that this is impossible. At least try to add every player as soon as they start training to your member list.
Youth players (U18 and under) must have at least one guardian (målsman) with valid telephone number and email address for registration. This is important for insurance, for emergency contact, for notifications of upcoming games / tournaments, notifications of cancelled practices, and also for sending a bill (faktura) for the season.
After updating your team’s “medlemmar” page on www.lundbybasket.se, send an email to mino.lundbybasket@gmail.com so that she can license or unlicense the players that have been added or removed. A how-to video on updating members (medlemmar), and more, is here.
Notify Players & Parents of Cancelled/Delayed Practices
A team parent or player should be given this task.
Players should never show up to a locked hall where there is no coach. If a practice must be cancelled, use every means necessary to notify the players and parents of this. Many parents have told us that this is why they stopped coming to Lundby. This includes:
-
Publish it on your team’s page on www.lundbybasket.se. This will automatically get sent via email to all players and guardians (målsmän) that are correctly registered with a valid email address. It will also show up for anyone that visits www.lundbybasket.se under “latest news” and as a headline on your team’s page.
-
(Optional) If possible, publish it to your team’s page on Facebook, if you have one (you can share the post from www.lundbybasket.se there if you want to save time.)
-
(Optional) If possible, use www.lundbybasket.se‘s built-in “send SMS” functionality to send an SMS to the team to let them know.
Keep Calendar Up To Date
A team parent or player should be given this task.
Every team has a team calendar, and this should be kept up to date with all practices and games. We are working together with svenskalag.se to ensure that the match lists for every team are automatically pulled from Westra, but they can’t pull practices, so these need to be manually added. Once the practice times are finalized, just go in and add a repeated entry to the calendar for each training. Making calendar entries is part of the video that we made here.
Keep Attendance (Närvaro) Up To Date
A team parent or player should be given this task.
Updating attendance (närvaro) once the calendar is up to date takes less than 60 seconds after a match or training. Log into www.lundbybasket.se, go to the match or practice on your calendar, right click on the little pencil beside that day’s match/practice, and select “Fyll i närvaro.” The rest is self-explanatory. Much of this is also shown in the video here.
Matches (Samåker, Kallelse, Spelklarlist, Närvaro, Rapportering, Protokoll, Dräkter)
-
(LF) Arrange rides to games (A team parent or player should be given this task.)
-
(LF) Ensure that you license all new players via your medlemslist and notify mino.lundbybasket@gmail.com of any changes.
-
Bring an updated spelklarlist, and give it to sekreteratet at least 30-minutes before the game. Use it to fill in jersey numbers, captain, coach, starting 5.
-
Represent LUNDBY! Play well, then thank the other team, the sekreteriat, the referees, the crowd.
-
(LF) If it is a home-game, the home-team coach must report the result to Westra via SMS at 0730-124 125. The format is “matchnr home-away”, like this: 033313148 61-64. A team parent or player can be given this task.
-
(LF) Assign someone to wash the jerseys (dräkter). Jerseys (Dräkter) MUST be collected after the game and washed by a single player. A team parent or player should be given this task.
-
Get your team to help you follow the checklist for “after practices” if it is the last match of the day.
Sekreteriat
A team parent or player should be given this task.
All teams are responsible for sitting sekreteriat for other teams (what goes around, comes around.) Check the sekreteriat list at www.lundbybasket.se, and ensure that your team sends 3 players to sit when your team is assigned to sit. These are “sekreterare,” “tidtagare,” och “24-sek-tidtagare.” At least one of them, sekreterare, must be qualified to sit sek via a course at Westra, so ensure as well that you send your players to these courses when they have the chance.
Sekreteriat must be there at least 30 minutes before the game is to start in order to have time to bring out the equipment and to fill in the matchprotokoll, and is also responsible for putting away the equipment after the last game of the day.
After Practices - (Cleanup, Lock-up, Send matchprotokoll on Sundays)
Get the entire team to help with this task.
See the checklist here.
