Christmas tournament and end of the year

Last Wednesday december 14th, we already finished volleyball for this year and ended the "höst termin" with our traditional fun mixed Christmas tournament. After a small version with the kids, we had 8 teams and overall 40 participants competing for the Golden Santa.

Warm-up was proudly presented by our women's A team coach Sherman and after a short introduction by our president Marica, and some presents for all the coaches, we started in the group stage. While the competition was fierce and preparations intense, there was still plenty of time to mingle with other team members and enjoy some sweets and some glögg provided by our shared julbord tradition. Matches were very exciting this year thanks to a well balanced team generation and good effort by everyone. In the final (slightly after schedule), Team GLÖGG met team PEPPERKAKOR which the former won with 25:19. This years winning team did not only get the golden Santa but also a small gift card for our Klubbshop Tifosi.

Thanks to all the participants and help with setting up and cleaning up afterwards. 

Small side note about the very successful past match weekends:

Week 49 was a big volleyball weekend with almost all Gothia teams having matches.

On Saturday, both Men's B and C team were playing in Idrottshögskolan. The B team secured a win against Lund C (3:0) and beat Göteborg B in an exciting derby 3:1. The C team hosting Trollhättan B and Majorna, managed to beat the former super tight with 3:2 and first time ever won also the second match confidently 3:0.

On Sunday, our A Women's team had a home match day against Jönköping B and Habo winning both matches very strongly 3:0. Also playing were our Women's B team in Habo against their B team which they unfortunately lost but not without a good fight.

Also Sunday, our Men's A team won in Engelholm with 3:1.
