Welcome to FGF - Finspångs GymnastikFörening!
FGF is a non-profit organization, a "förening," that provides gymnastics training for kids and teenagers. A "förening" is a member-driven entity, where the members both govern and carry out the activities. There is no manager in a "förening"; instead, the club is run by a board elected by the members at the annual general meeting.
FGF offers gymnastics training for children from the age of 2 and upwards. Our groups are organized by age and prior experience. It is important to register for a group that matches the child’s age, as this ensures the training can be tailored to the needs of the entire group. We reserve the right to reject registrations for children who do not fit the age criteria or the required experience levels for a specific group. All groups have a limited number of spots, depending on the number of coaches and the size of the gymnasium. While some of our coaches have a gymnastics background, the majority are parents who actively engage in their children’s extracurricular activities and have completed training through the Swedish Gymnastics Federation. All coaches volunteer their time to FGF.
In order to run our operations smoothly, we depend on the active involvement of parents. We often require assistance from parents to help out in the groups or at events such as our summer camp.
Registration for gymnastics training takes place each semester. Gymnasts who have trained with us in the previous semester have a limited period to take advantage of priority registration (”Förtursanmälan”). This means that registration for the groups is initially open only to gymnasts who have trained with us in the prior semester. However, priority registration does not guarantee a spot in the same group the child was previously in. Some groups may fill up within a few hours during the priority registration period. Priority registration is done via our website, and you must be logged in to access this option. The opportunity for priority registration ends when registration for new gymnasts begins. The dates for priority registration and new member registration will be posted on our website at the end of each semester. Once your child is registered as a member, you will receive an email with login credentials. We do not accept registrations via email. In general, we do not allow new gymnasts to start mid-term. We do not have a waiting list. Maps to our gymnasiums are found here: Finspångs Gymnastikförening
Before the term begins, FGF will send out a welcome letter with more information. The coach for each group will also send an informational email along with their contact details. Please note that all communication from FGF is conducted in Swedish, and the language of instruction in the training groups is also Swedish.
Each term consists of 12 sessions. Typically, no training is scheduled during school holidays, but there may be occasions when the coach decides to arrange additional sessions during holidays. If a session is canceled, for example due to illness, and no substitute coach is available, the term may be extended with extra sessions. Individual canceled sessions are not compensated.
The Parkour group is open to children born in 2018 and earlier, starting from the spring term of 2025. The group have two coaches, and the gymnasts will be divided according to their prior experience and age. The younger gymnasts will lears basic gymnastics skills (similar to Basic Gymnastics/GG) as well as specific Parkour techniques.
Bamsegympa is recommended for children aged 2-5 years. No prior experience is required. Bamsegympa is a family gymnastics activity where a parent is involved and actively participates in the training. Therefore, both children and adults should wear appropriate training clothes.
Basic Gymnastics (GrundGymnastik/GG): We have different groups for various age ranges, and it is advantageous for children to train in a group where the skill level is relatively consistent. Please register for a group that matches the child’s age. No prior experience is required, but the child should be able to follow instructions and manage without a parent at training.
The Trupp/TG/Competition Group and Fortsättningsgrupp/FG/Advanced Group are only available to gymnasts who meet the required experience levels. New members cannot register for these groups. If your child has prior gymnastics experience and you are interested in these groups, please contact FGF for further information.
