Junior committee (Clara, Kristian, Holmgren)

We have started our ordinary practices for the indoor season. After a successful Frisbeeskola we have a good group of 11 juniors. The possibility to play a real match at most of the practices makes the players and coaches really happy. Our focus is directed towards Kung Bore, an indoor tournament in Örebro in the beginning of December. There we are taking a small but committed group of juniors.

If you know any young people of 10 years and above, please invite them to our junior practices Saturdays at Sjöviksskolan between 14:30 and 15:30.

Tournament committee (Elsa, Timo, Andreas)

In late October Solklar finally was organising our beloved tournament GURLS-hat in Malmö. The tournament committee had been initiating an organisation group consisting of Kristian, Elsa, Danilo, Brina, Editha and Umesh in the past and the tournament has been very successful - as always. 13 Solklar players participated and helped out with organisational tasks during the weekend which allowed us to earn quite some money to our club.

In the middle of November we organized Östsvenskaligan in Stockholm where 6 teams played. Solklar Dark won all their games while Solklar Light won spirit and the very exciting universe-game against our friends from Västerås! We also raised around 2000 SEK for the club with our fika sale!

Solklar open and women teams will be heading to Force Fyris in Uppsala next weekend December 2-3! If you have some time, hop on the pendeltåg and show them some love in Fyrishov!

The next weekend we will be celebrating our beloved Frismas with our annual Solklar awards, and holiday colored foods! Get hyped and don’t forget to RSVP on Svenskalag!

Practice committee (Alvaro, Brina, Anna, Furkan, Hüseyin)

Since winter is coming and our hands are not trained to catch discs in the cold… we started the indoor season in October 2023! The practice committee together with the Board managed to set  Brännkyrkahallen as our home hall for Monday and Wednesday practices during the indoor season. We are happy to say that lately we did not have to cancel any hall times since Solklarians were very eager to practice and play as much as they could. Moreover, we started the indoor season with many new people and an excellent general commitment. It is great and we really appreciate the effort.

During this season, we will continue our Practice committee tasks such as dealing with the hall and field bookings, making sure there are enough people signed up for every training session, providing equipment to the coaches and making sure players receive all the necessary information by email and Svenskalag. We will also verify the membership and practice payments together with the club treasurer. 

During January we will arrange some shorter coaching introductions to inspire our players to become a coach. Let us know if you already know that you are interested in learning to be a coach. Don’t forget, a motivated coach can change a lot of people’s lives for the better so you will have a great impact!

Finally, we want to announce that soon it is time to plan our outdoor season and book fields. It is and will be our goal to find the best fields and times to make the training as accessible as possible for all our players.

Board (Rok, Jonathan, Editha, Danilo)

The board has been active as always and running tasks like:

• Sending in an application for financial support from the Ultimate federation to strengthen our junior activities. The application was approved and we got about 7500 kr support for activities that would have been paid by the club otherwise, kaching!
• Planning a work meeting / open office for all the committees. We have booked the meeting room at the Bränkyrkahallen for Wednesday 29th of November from 19:00. Please join us, the more the merrier and more effective we are! Fika included.
• Frismas is two weeks away, we are boosting the motivation - each point you have earned and will earn at the Frismas-challenge is giving you a 10 kr discount on the Frismas party fee (which is 200 kr without points). So let’s go and activate!
• Danilo has been attending a workshop of the Ultimate federation last Wednesday that was about how the rules for playing Swedish championships are supposed to look like. Let’s see whether the rules will be adjusted to encourage us continuing to build a strong and stable club in the future.
• The board has been discussing Thursdays at Frescatihallen. Game time seems to be much appreciated but since the hall is very expensive we decided not to continue there in January. Welcome on Saturdays to Sjöviksskolan for a game day instead! More information will be communicated by the practice committee.
