15 sep 2023 0 kommentarer
This is the first ever Solklar newsletter, wohoo!
The board decided to try this way of communicating with our club members and hope it can help us to be transparent but even highlight club activities and all work that our awesome members and committees are putting into Solklar.
Do you want to get more engaged? Let us know!
The board, Rok, Jonathan, Editha and Danilo
Junior committee (Clara, Kristian, Holmgren)
We in the junior committee are currently hard at work building up our junior group to a stable large enough group to run proper practices with full 5on5 matches. We currently have a few very dedicated players who have been playing with us for a while now as well as a few more fairly regular players. As for what we are currently working on we are in the middle of a large recruitment drive consisting of two projects.
The first project was a very successful summer camp with around 25 participating kids which was run by our leaders (Editha and Holmgren) as well as two of our more senior and engaged juniors.
The second part is a “Frisbeeschool” that we have been doing a lot of marketing for. Around ten new players have been participating the past two Saturdays and we hope this will provide enough new players to have better and more stable practices. The biggest challenge we have is in general a lack of enough dedicated players, something we greatly hope to remedy with the actions and projects which we have put in motion.
Do you know anyone 10 years or older that would be interested? Please tell them all about us or connect them with the junior committee.
Tournament committee (Elsa, Timo, Andreas)
The Tournament Committee has resumed its regular meetings following a refreshing summer break, during which we bid farewell to two valued members, Jana and Marianne. We wish them the very best in their endeavors. Currently, our committee is composed of three dedicated members: Timo, Andreas, and Elsa, who are enthusiastic about the upcoming indoor tournaments.
Reflecting on recent events, Solklar, recently participated in the Mixed SM tournament in Frövi. This event provided our members, some of whom were competing in their first official tournament, with invaluable experience.
Looking ahead, we have an exciting event on the horizon as some of our members are gearing up to represent our club in the Calafell Arena beach tournament in Barcelona, Spain, scheduled for September 22-25.
Furthermore, in December, we have ambitious plans to participate in the Force Fyris tournament in Uppsala. This time, we aspire to field both an open and a women's team, marking a significant milestone for our club. If you haven't already, please make sure to sign up on Svenskalag to be a part of this exciting journey. Your participation and support are greatly appreciated as we continue to build our presence in the world of competitive ultimate frisbee.
Practice committee (Furkan, Anna, Alvaro)
Your favorite practice committee was active as well. With winter slowly approaching we made all bookings for the upcoming indoor season and we proudly present the following indoor times starting on Wednesday the 4th of October:
Advanced practices:
Mondays, 21.00-22.30 in Brännkyrkahallen
Beginner-friendly practices:
Wednesdays, 21.00-22.30 in Kanalhallen
You get access to an almost unlimited amount of hammers, knives & fun by paying the practice fee of 560 kr (660 kr for the most dedicated Monday players, getting an extra practice a week). We hope to continue our work towards providing a great practice experience for all members & keeping everyone active in the dark winter days. With some members moving on to other things we are also open to get new support for our work.
And we will soon be going out with a request for new coaches. Already know that you want to become a coach? Hit us up!
Board (Rok, Jonathan, Editha, Danilo)
The board members have first and foremost been supporting the different committees with their tasks and have been attending meetings to discuss the activities of the committees.
We have also been trying a new way of more sustainable recruitment and put quite some resources into field times close to students in Frescatihallen.
The recruitment sessions at Frescatihallen resulted in a couple of new players (thanks for organising Holmgren) that we welcomed to our regular club practices last Wednesday! We hope you find us fun!
Frescatihallen is booked until early January and will be at a disposal for a game day or strength training (or whatever pops into your mind) on Thursdays 17.30-18.30. Let us know if you have any ideas how we can set up those Thursday practices to make them as valuable as possible.
Furthermore: We are looking for a person to arrange the Friskvårdskvitton for our members that are employed and entitled to friskvårdsbidrag. This has to be done prior to the 31st of October. If you’re willing to help with this, let anyone of the board (Rok, Jonathan, Danilo or Jonathan) know so our members can get their practice fees back from their companies. If we don’t find anyone helping out with this, it will unfortunately not be possible.
Last but not least the board would like to thank all players engaged in the club and in this newsletter we stress the players that helped with the fika table at Youth SM earning almost 6,000 SEK to our club.
Next up is indoor season and we’re looking forward to all activities with you!
