Gothia Junior VSS Borås 12/11

This sunday the 12/11, the juniors arrived in Borås for the second VSS of the season. The team kept up the spirit throughout the whole day and helped each other up if one felt down or stressed, the serves we’re consistent and it was overall a really great day.Our first game was against Habo volley and it was a game full of challenges and excitement. It was very close between the two teams but Habo unfortunately won the first set by 28-30 and the second by 23-25.Gothia J started of strong with pressured float serves, perfect receive in both defense and freeballs, successful pancakes and digs , block at the net and attacks from middle, left, right and back row! Proud coaches to say the least.Second game against skara began. The game started unfocused and we did mistakes that we hadn’t done before. We won the first set easily but because of stress and being unfocused, we lost the second set which meant an unfortunate draw between skara.Our third match was against Göteborg KFUM D1 and everyone was trying to recover from the last game. The team started strong with amazing saves and great communication which led us to winning the first set. The second set was a bit messier and we lost the set by a very close point gap. It was once again a draw between GBG.After a long break it was finally time for the final plays of the day. We we’re going up against Westan and not only did the team start strong with multiple aces but also amazing attacks from both sides. We won the first set with positive energy and the players really kept calm throughout the whole game. However, we unfortunately lost the last set with once again, a very close point gap, 15-13.Our last and final game of the day was against Göteborg KFUM D2. Everyone was very tired during this game , after 2 games already played, and we lost many balls due to them coming up short and everyone losing communication and energy. The team got some good spikes and on point balls right to the setter after receive.The junior team has really improved drastically in serves, offence and defense and will continue doing so and spreading positive energy on and off court. Next VSS is the 18/11 in Kungsbacka!
