Två nyförvärv från UK

Cole Shudra

Nittorps IK kan härmed informera om att vi gjort klart med med två spelare, en back och en forward, från brittiska högstaligan EIHL, vilken numera ska vara i nivå med Hockeyallsvenskan. Båda väntas ansluta 1 oktober och kommer bo i Tranemo. Förhoppningsvis kan de spela mot GSK på fredag i premiären.

Cole Shudra, 22 år, spelade förra säsongen i Sheffield Steelers. -En spelande back, och stor kille (188 cm/95 kg) som spelat i brittiska landslaget, kommenterar sportchef Niklas Nilsson.

Joshua Waller, 21 år, förra säsongen i London-klubben Guildford Flames. -En kille vi har bra koll på, har spelat med svenskar som vi pratat med. Snabb och duktig spelare som ska bli en bra poängmaskin. Gjorde näst mest poäng i andradivisionens U20-VM.

Vi hörde med Cole om...

1. Varför han valde att komma till Sverige och Nittorp:

- The leagues in the UK are not going ahead due to COVID so I had to look elsewhere and after looking around Europe, Nittorp gave me an offer and it seemed like a great place to come and play hockey, and I’m very excited to come and see for myself! I also think playing hockey in Sweden where hockey is one of the best national sports, it will be a great experience as I feel it will improve me as a player, help me adapt and to learn new skills and play a different style of hockey.

2. Vad han vet om Nittorp:

-I don’t know too much about the team just yet but I’m excited to meet the guys and get to know them all, from what Niklas has told me it’s a very small place with lots of great people around! So hopefully I will get to meet some great new people and learn a little bit more about Nittorp and the history!

3. Vad vi kan förvänta oss på isen:

-I think as a defenceman I like to make sure I don’t give up any high percentage opportunities and always have a good outlet pass and play physical , I think I can help lead the rush from the D zone and get us into the offensive zone to create chances and keep possession, on the PP I think I can bring a good shot from the top and good vision to find my teammates through the seams.
