Hedro the Hero at Grosvads IP
Talk about a get out of jail card for Gotte. 3 minutes remaining and 2 - 1 down, Gotte managed to show true grit, first by equalizing and then by a stunner from Hedro Hanna with less than 30 seconds of the game to go.
Three withdrawals from the squad about 2 hours before the game meant a lot of frantic phone calls to bring in the eleventh man. Showing true team spirit, Emil Molinder came to our aid. The wait for our eleventh man delayed our journey to Finspång. Luckily for us, on route to Finspång, the car heater was on warm. This was the only warm up we had because two minutes after coming on to the pitch, the referee blew for the game to start. Three minutes later, Gotte were 1 - 0 down, maybe this is the price we have to pay when players withdraw from the squad so late in the day. More disaster was to come when Gotte went another goal down after 25 minutes, 2 -0 in favour of FFK.
Five minutes later, a magnificient solo effort from Fredrick Rogström reduced the game to 2 - 1, the same result stood at half time.
Team moral was high during the half time team talk, and Gotte knew the game was there for the taking. One thing Gotte didn't know was that it would take 42 minutes until they would score their next goal. A thru ball from Larsson gave Fredrick his chance to score his second for the day, 2 - 2. For the final few minutes, Gotte attacked in force. FFK were defending with all eleven playes and when Gotte played a ball into the box which was frantically headed away, it only found Hedro's trust left foot. Hedro volleyed the ball from about 15 meters, past all Gotte & FFK players, and into the back of the net, 2 - 3 in favour of Gotte.
Gotte huffed a sign of relief when the referee blew the final and they new they had got of jail. Another three points in their quest for the titel.
Well done to all the players who participated in the game and to Benny Persson, team leader for the night.
