Arlanda Pre Game

Last Week
Kristianstad has a good team and they played better than we did last weekend. Their aggressive defense gave us problems on the line of scrimmage and limited what we were able to do offensively. Their quarterback and receivers also played well against our defense and were able to consistently connect on the short and intermediate passes which lead to scores.
Our Offense
The most positive thing about last week was that our offense scored 3x more points in that one game than we had scored in our previous two games combined! We've played 4 games but we've been juggling our personnel so much that we've been unable to find our rhythm and develop a style of play. It feels like things are stabilized now and we are looking forward to utilizing all of our athletes in the right way. When we finally put it together, we are going to be exciting to watch and difficult to defend.
Our Defense
We have our work cut out for us on defense this week. We will need to adjust some things in the secondary, and improve our pass defense. Good pass defense starts with a pass rush and we'll need to find different ways to get to Arlanda's quarterback. Our coverage has been decent and the great thing about last week's performance was that we didn't allow any big gains.
Key to the Game
Arlanda is a better team compared to last year. We must not take them lightly. With 2 Americans on offense they will be difficult to contain. We feel like the game plan starts and ends with the defense and making sure the 2 of them are neutralized.

Arlanda Post Game

Arlanda gave us a tough test for the first 2 quarters yesterday. Our defense started the day very well, throughout the 1st half they shut-down Arlanda''s offense. We put heavy pressure on the line of scrimmage and made things difficult for them. Offensively, we started slowly. Our first 2 possessions resulted in 3 & outs. It wasn''t until right before halftime that we were able to get things going.
We played some very good football in the second half. We gave up a kick return for a touchdown and they marched down for a score behind the play of their import Qb and receiver. The rest of the second half belonged to us, we had some very excited plays on offense, big hits on special teams, and we created several turnovers on defense.
It was a good team performance and a good morale boost going into the second part of our season. We did have some breakdowns on special teams that we have to fix, and our receivers dropped far too many passes. We are still learning to get comfortable with our offensive playbook and our Qb situation, but we took a big step in the right direction yesterday.
