Preview vecka 3 Tyresö
18 jun 2014
Last week’s match We were disapointed with our loss to Uppsala last week. The 86ers played a very good game and were the better team that night. We found it difficult to get a running game going and our Qb was under pressure for much of the evening. Offensively we failed to score, which is concerning and we found some new areas in need of improvement. Our defense played pretty well, even though we gave up a more points than what should be acceptable. Our defense We are looking better and better in the defensive backfield and we have the availability to use several different combinations of people who can perform well for us. Last week the group intercepted 3 passes, a trend we will try to continue. Our linebacker group looks strong, and should be even better after the holidays when we will have a few more players coming back from injuries and vacation. Our defensive line was less effective versus Uppsala compared to their performance in week #1. We have a good group, but depending on our substitutions and injury status, we could be a little thin compared to the other positions. Our offense For our team to score points, we need to distribute the ball to our playmakers and our playmakers are at the receiver position. We need to be more efficient with every chance we are given. This means we have to take care of the ball and make our opportunities count. We were not able to take advantage of the few chances we had last week. It takes 11 guys doing their job right every time and then we have to apply our skill and make the play. Our offensive line looked decent with a few exceptions and we''ll have to look for new ways to run the football. Keys to victory We have to play well to win. Regardless of the opponent, we have to accept the fact that we cannot afford to play average or poorly and expect to win. Tyreso is a very good team and we know who they have and what they can do. If our offense can pick up 1st downs and hit some big plays, we can put points up with the talent we have. Our defense must focus on Tyreso'' quarterback, and putting him into bad situations. Go Bulls!
Tyreso Post Game
23 jun 2014
Tyreso came out yesterday with a very efficient offense and their passing game was quite impressive. They have long been one of the toughest defenses to face and they didn't give us anything easy yesterday.
We knew coming into the game that we were going to have to do some things differently on offense. We started the game without a couple of key play makers, including both of our quarterbacks. Michael Sander stepped in and did an admirable job for a few series before giving up the position to U19 Qb Ludvig Persson who impressed with his poise and.leadership. I happy with the job of our offensive line and some of the holes we opened up in the running game and we also did a nice job protecting our quarterbacks.
I thought our defense played well against the run but had some problems applying a consistent pass rush and we gave up a few too many long passes. One of the plays that changed the momentum of the game was a 60 yard TD pass seconds before halftime that put us down by 3 scores.
We'll have an improved team ready for our trip to Kristiansand in a few weeks and we are looking forward to seeing what we can do against them.
Go Bulls!
