Pregame Report – Week # 1. Orebro
30 maj 2013
After an extremely long off season and pre- season for our
club, week # 1 is finally here. It is a
relief knowing that we can start to put more of our focus on different
opponents each week, and test ourselves against the other teams in the
league. We will not have a very deep
team this year, but we will be talented.
In order for us to duplicate or exceed our results from last year, we
will need to get the maximum effort from everyone each week.
We will know a lot more about ourselves after this first
test, but this year I expect us to be a good passing team and more consistent
on defense. We did some amazing things
last season offensively and had a good system that matched the skills of our
players. We will have some new people
filling in at spots offensively and it will be interesting to see how we
develop on that side of the ball. We
have made some small but hopefully important changes to what we do defensively,
and combined with some more athleticism in the group, I expect us to be better.
Our opponent has loaded up for a run at the championship
this year and will be a tough opponent.
With new coaches and players it is impossible to know what to
expect. We will need to be mentally
prepared for a road game in a big stadium against a good team. It should be a good experience for our new
players and a fun way to start 2013.
Go Bulls!
Orebro Postgame
2 jun 2013
Orebro was the better team Saturday, and they played well. I was pleased with our effort. We want to win every game and we want to compete with every opponent, and I felt like we competed pretty well. Both teams played clean and there were very few mistakes, it was an entertaining match for the big crowd that came to watch.
Defensively, we gave up more points than I would like. One thing which we need to improve upon is our knowledge of the playbook and some simple concepts and responsibilities. We are still thinking too much, instead of reacting. We had a few good moments and showed the potential for future success.
It was probably one of the most consistent days running the football we have ever had. Much of the credit goes to Damien and the offensive line, who have improved greatly over the last month. Tyler played and excellent game at Qb, showing his pocket presence and leadership ability. We had 30 points, which should be enough to win most games.
We need to have a little luck with injuries, continue learning and stick together as a team, but I feel we got off to a good start and we look forward to a home game next weekend.
Go Bulls!
