New addition to the team

Tomorrow the Orion girls welcome Hylte Halmstad to Storavalla Hallen. Undoubtedly a very tough match ahead. Hylte Halmstad is one of the strongest teams in the Eliteserien, so the team will have to work extremely hard to achieve our goals.
However to help us do so - we have the pleasure to announce the arrival of a new setter Danijela Racic to the squad. Danijela comes to us from Austria. She is a young player who is hoping to study here in Sweden, and has decided to join the team for the remainder of the season. The team is excited for the new possibilities this will bring, and are looking to use this match against Hylte to get familiar with each other.
The main focus for the game will be to work on our setting and hitting connections and try to establish a well rounded attack. The last few games we’ve gotten better and better at distributing the ball around and not being so predictable, so we’d like to keep carrying that forward. The last time we played in Hylte Halmstad, the team had an excellent first set which ended in a 30-28 finish for Hylte. Our strong serving was definitely a huge part of this battle, and it will be very important to maintain this tomorrow.
We invite everyone to come out and meet the new addition to our team, and check out some good volleyball tomorrow at 15:00. See you there!

Yesterday’s match was something the team can be quite proud of. Although Hylte Halmstad was victorious, the team stayed competitive with them throughout all three sets. We certainly did feel disappointed that we didn’t manage to take a set from them, however we also recognize they are one of the top teams in Sweden.
Danijela had her debut during this game and did an excellent job despite her nerves! She adapted quite well to the team and pace, and did a great job blocking too! Both Olivia and Danijela switched back and forth over the course of the match and contributed a great deal to our competitiveness.
The team struggled once again with reception which will now be our big focus moving forward to our next match versus Sollentuna. We need to establish a strong first contact if we hope to achieve any points on Wednesday, so the team goes back to hard work and training until then.
