Sunday the team travels to Gislaved to play our second match up against them.  During our first encounter, things were quite disorganized for us, as this was directly after our setter and captain quit the team.  A lot of time has passed since then, and the team has managed to stabilize ourselves as much as possible given the circumstances.  Olivia and Emma have both risen to the challenge, and are doing an excellent job with such a difficult task.  

Going into this game our focus will remain on our strong, error free serving.  Gislaved doesn’t always seem to have a great first contact, so if we can keep our serving errors to a minimum and put some pressure on their reception this will already be a very good start.  

Gislaved has some tall players, so block coverage will need to be present, and distributing the ball around will also be important to reduce our predictability in our attack.  Since our last game, we’ve tested certain players out in different positions.  If the normal line up struggles to play our game, we have a second look that we can try, which appeared quite strong during training.  

As usual, potential for winning points in this game is strong.  The team has to go into the game confident and extremely focused.  Everyone needs to step up and say enough is enough.  We’re all tired of losing and deserve a positive outcome.  Our trainings have picked up in intensity, and we hope to carry that forward into this game against Gislaved.
