Saturday the Degerfors team welcomes Engelholm to Stora Vallahallen.  The currently ranked second place team comes to us with no surprises as a very tough match.  Made even more difficult by the loss of our current middle blocker Sofie Fahlin who is fighting off a virus.  Therefore the team is setting our sights on the smaller goals within the game.  The team has come to realize that even though we don’t always have the outcome we set out to achieve, we always walk away with valuable lessons as a whole.  We hope that with all of these smaller goals and lessons, that it will eventually come together for a win somewhere down the road.  

For Saturday’s game, the main focus will be blocking and defense.  Engelholm is a strong offensive team and trying to control that offense with strong blocking and a committed, low defense, we hope to make some points.  The first time we played Engelholm we came very close to taking a set.  So this time around we set a second goal of winning the set we almost had the first time around.  

Finally, staying together, playing our game, and having fun, has proven to be the key to our best performances.  Keeping this atmosphere alive is integral for a tough game like this one.  If we can be successful with these smaller established goals, it will be a positive game.  Hope to see you there!
