Last away game of the season

Saturday the team is on the road one last time to face off against Svedala. With such a long drive before the match, the girls will need to really get moving and focused to arrive and play strong.
The last time we played Svedala we didn’t manage to play to our full potential. However, coming off of our first win and the excitement and confidence that that brought us, we hope to carry some of that positive energy forward to this match.
Svedala has a tall lineup with a strong blocking and attacking presence. The team will have to be prepared to cover our hitters, and distribute a faster ball to try and avoid a closed block. As always we will try to serve tough to eliminate the possibility of a middle set since this is one of their strongest plays.
With only three games left in this Eliteserien, the team hopes to win a few more points throughout these last three games which is a very realistic possibility.
Missing energy

Yesterday’s long travel day down to Svedala resulted in a 3-0 loss. Our setter Dani was out due to illness, and the squad was once again reduced to only 8 players.
The team had a very difficult time reducing our unforced errors. Anytime we gained any type of momentum, we would shoot ourselves in the foot by missing a serve, or hitting out. Throughout the match we set a goal to focus on getting our serves over, but we failed at that, and missed 13 serves over the course of this game. That number is absolutely too big. A team cannot expect to win a set with so many direct mistakes.
During the first set the team had an extremely difficult time receiving the ball. And when we finally managed to make a good pass, we ended up making a direct mistake in the set or the attack. It wasn’t a good start to the game, however the positive is that the team managed to pick things up during set 2 and 3. We competed with Svedala a bit more and had a lot more respectable scores in these sets. Elin did an excellent job as the libero yesterday and had some very strong passing. As a whole however, the team did not have the same drive and fight as we last saw in our game against Sollentuna.
The team enters our final week of games with only two left to go in this Eliteserien. Wednesday we play Linköpings at home, and Saturday once again at home for the final game of the season versus Lund. Please come out and support the team as once this week is over, our 2017-2018 season will come to an end.
