Today the Orion girls are packing their bags and making the trek down to Lund.  This long awaited match up has the entire team eager and excited to see if we can finally come out with a victory.  Lund is also one of the bottom ranked teams in the Eliteserien, but certainly not to be taken lightly.  

Unfortunately, like many of our opponents, teams come in expecting a win against us.  Understandably so.  We are new to the league and haven’t won any games to date.  But that certainly is not representative of how strong our team can be.  With the proper mental focus and fighting drive, we have proven at many different games that we are capable of beating any team if we put our all to it.  And this is exactly what is necessary for us to come out victorious at the end of the day with Lund.  Lund will certainly be sharing that same mentality as the other teams in the league against us.  For them, it’s their shot at a first win as well.  So a true battle is sure to ensue.  

The main goal in this game is to finally get a few points.  Whether it be 3, 2, or 1, the goal is to get some.  Secondly, it will be to put pressure on their reception by serving tough.  Based on game tape, Lund isn’t a very strong receiving team, and if we can get them to have a bad first contact, we will already be in a better spot to achieve our main goal.  

The Degerfors girls need to remain calm and composed and simply do the job we all have to do.  With the  right mental preparation and desire to win, I’m confident the team will do great things.
